What a
long strange trip it’s been.
Before
January of 2003, I really didn’t think much about computers.
They seemed perfectly fine for banging out a report or two for school,
but computer games seemed kind of nerdy to me. My step dad has quite
a Passion for computer game. Part of his personality that really
caused me to wonder at times if he was as cool as he seemed. But
it seemed to keep him off the streets at night, and seemed to give
him lots of enjoyment. He was not really an RPG kind of guy, but
his son bought him a copy of NWN. He got into it big time. Every
time I caught him in front of the computer he was playing it. I
would watch him play online with strangers from all over the world.
And suddenly, it didn’t seem quite as lame. It seemed rather
sociable, and if you knew my step dad you would know what a life
changing thing that is. So since he’s in a sociable mood,
he turns to me and asks, “Would you like to try it out?”
and I reluctantly said yes.
Little did I know what I was getting myself in for.
Here it is some six months later and it seems as if my whole life
revolves around the game. I have learned more about computers in
a short time then I ever dreamed I would, and all due to a simple
game.
Now I’m making my own module and I swear, I’m not addicted.
Really, I can stop anytime. I find myself wondering if there is
a limit to how big a module can be. But inspire of my mania, I’m
having a blast.
This is my first note book entry and I can’t say I’m
reveling anything too personal. But I would like to thank you all
for reading, and I hope you enjoy playing with Kingdom of Desire
as much as I enjoy making it.
